The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) will announce the appointment of a new head coach in early January 2017.

Joko Driyono, the deputy president of the PSSI, said that the PSSI are still in review of the candidates and will make the announcement at the right time.

“We still cannot make the announcement. I believe that early January will be the target,” said Joko.

Alfred Riedl was the last person to coach Indonesia when he led them to the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016.

And while he has indicated that he might resign from football altogether, the Austrian has since thrown his name into the hat for consideration.
