Jose Maria Mendes or Pulpis has signed up as the new head coach of Thai Futsal on a three year contract.

Following the departure of Miguel Rodrigo, who has since joined Vietnam, Pulpis’s immediate task would be to form a team for the SEA Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur in August.

Pulpis had been with the Thai national side from 2008-2011.

The contract between Pulpis and the FA of Thailand (FAT) was signed this week with Maj. Gen. Somyod Phumphonmuang, the President of FAT and also Adisak Benjasiriwan, chairman of the FAT Futsal Committee.

“We have reached an agreement with Pulpis and it is indeed a great news to us,” said Adisak.

“Pulpis set the foundation for Thai Futsal back in 2008 and we believe that he will bring Thai Futsal to greater heights.”

Added Pulpis: “I am very familiar working with Thai Futsal where other than the four years at the national level, I also worked at club level for a further two years.”
