Sukma XVII Perlis 2014 LogoNational Sports Council director general Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong is confident that aquatics and badminton venues will be ready in time before the said events get underway for the 17th Malaysia Games (SUKMA).

Zolkples, together with YB Abdul Jamil Saad, the state executive councillor for Youth and Sports, visited the two venues today and were satisfied with the level of readinesss.

After being briefed by the contractors at the respective venues, the smile on the faces of both Zolkples and Abdul Jamil spoke of the confidence they have of the expected deliverance.

“Work has been going on round the clock at both venues. The contractors are now putting the finishing touches to the buildings and landscapes.

“I am happy with the progress that has taken place. Come competition day the venues will be ready for competition,” said Zolkples, who also thanked the JKR (Public Works Department) for supervising and working round the clock.

Aquactics and badminton get underway on May 28 – two days after the official opening ceremony on May 26
