YB Azlan Man, the Menteri Besar of Perlis, said that there is no issue as far as the readiness of the aquatic centre is concerned, where he said this week that it will be ready in time for the 17th edition of the SUKMA this month.
Perlis will be hosting the SUKMA for the first time this year on 24 May to 4 June 2014.
And while a handful of venues have been refurbished and upgraded months ahead of schedule, the aquatic centre has taken a bit more time to be completed.
āI am disappointed with all the negative talk and those who do not value or appreciate the efforts of the state government to ensure all the venues were completed on time and facilities ready before the SUKMA, including facilities for the media centre,ā said Azlan.
ā99% of the venues to host the SUKMA are ready while the aquatic centre would be handed over to the state government by the contractor next week.ā
