wtccOSCARO.com, the leading automotive spare parts online retailer, will become an Official Series Partner of the FIA World Touring Car Championship under a two-year agreement from 2016.

Based in France, OSCARO.com will benefit from trackside branding, on-air sponsorship on Eurosport, digital activation and bespoke hospitality when the new WTCC season gets underway.

The expanded partnership follows a successful trial earlier this year when OSCARO.com signed as the Event Presenting Partner of FIA WTCC Race of Portugal where it also launched the OSCARO.com Repair Time promotion.

Repair Time is the 15-minute window between the two WTCC races that teams have available to work on their cars in the pit lane prior to it closing ahead of the second race of the weekend. Because of the frenetic pace of the repairs and adjustments being undertaken, it can be difficult for television viewers to understand what work teams carry out.

In partnership with OSCARO.com, the OSCARO.com Repair Time display boards became a popular feature of World Touring Car Championship events and provided fans watching on TV with a useful insight into the meticulous high-paced pit activity in the WTCC as teams rush to ready their cars for the next race.

The OSCARO.com-branded displays are free-standing and are positioned in close proximity to the WTCC cars during Repair Time. Removable plates featuring various mechanical symbols, such as brake pads and discs, suspension – even windscreen wipers, which are all components available to purchase online at OSCARO.com, will give a clear picture of what parts have been tweaked or replaced on selected cars.

François Ribeiro, Head of Eurosport Events, the WTCC promoter, said: “OSCARO.com is a young, ambitious and very fast-growing company in a very competitive sector. We proved to them how efficient and creative the 360-degree communication platform provided by Eurosport Events and the WTCC can be and I am delighted they have taken the next step as an Official Series Partner for the next two years to support their business expansion outside France.”

Pierre-Noël Luiggi, CEO of OSCARO.com, said: “We are very excited about this partnership; this partnership will be very important to us as we continue to develop on the international scene while becoming Official Series Partner of one of the most spectacular championships in motorsports. The WTCC is about real cars, the same cars whose parts we sell online to our customers. It will be a promising year both for OSCARO and the WTCC in 2016 with innovations and new features. We have found a great partner which shares our values of ambition, creativity and above all passion.”
